Climate change

Climate change is one of the biggest issues that we will face in the 21st century. With continued release of greenhouse gases leading to severe changes in the earth’s climate. With the threat of rising sea levels and irregular weather events, the UK is at the forefront to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Schools have a special role to play in reducing emissions. Through learning and practice, they can set an example to today’s children, to keep a greener planet.

Cedars Primary School

The Cedars Primary School is located in the London Borough of Hounslow. All children have an Education Health Care Plan with their main needs being social, emotional and mental health.

Saving energy saves money. This in turn helps demonstrate that the school is providing value for money. Case study evidence suggests that an average secondary school could save up to 20% off its energy bills through replacement of heating, lighting and cooling equipment, a saving of around thousands of pounds every year.

Originally developed in conjunction with the Department of Energy, the Commercial SavaPlug can reduce running costs for various style refrigeration/freezer units. The SavaPlug is based on the same technology in our SavaControls, which has proven track record for reliability and performance. The SavaPlug can be funded by Salix loans.
