DVLA Energy Costs Driving Down with Savacontrols

DVLA (The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency) is responsible for maintaining a database of drivers and vehicles in Great Britain. On the whole the agency issues driving licences, vehicle excise duty and sells private number plates. DVLA is based in Swansea, south Wales, with a large 16 storey building in Clase and offices in Swansea Vale.

Significantly the DVLA, Swansea, is committed to preventing pollution and continually improving its environmental performance. In turn DVLA is committed to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions from energy use. Because the site has a large amount of refrigeration, savacontrols were ideal in this reduction.

Action

For this reason savacontrols have been fitted to the Vale and Morriston site over numerous installations. The equipment fitted ranged from air conditioning units, fridges and freezers. For example an installation in 2013 installation resulted in 50 three phase and single phase controls fitted. In conclusion this resulted with a C02 Reduction of 33,336kg and a payback under 1.4 year.
