Child Support Agency Reduces costs

Overview

This choice to install SavaPower Voltage Optimisation has aided much in the agency’s commitment to minimising its carbon impact in a timely manner.

The Child Support Agency (CSA)

The Child Support Agency (CSA) is a delivery arm of the Department for Work and Pensions (Child Maintenance Group) in Great Britain and the Department for Social Development in Northern Ireland. Launched on 5 April 1993, the CSA is responsible for implementing the Child Support Act 1991. The CSA’s function is twofold, encompassing calculation of how much child maintenance is due and collection, enforcement and transferal of the payment from the non-resident parent to the person with care.

The Child Support Agency is committed to reducing their energy consumption and CO2 emissions throughout the district. The CSA commissioned SavaWatt to carry out a full Free survey of the site to establish the possible savings. After consulting Savawatt controls it became apparent that voltage optimisation offered the best opportunity to maximise energy savings.

Our surveys are carried out by trained professionals who recommended the installation of a 360kva unit at the main distribution area. By controlling the incoming voltage, SavaPower improved the efficiency of equipment by ensuring it operated at the level it is designed for. Our installation was carried out by our in house NICEIC and ECA approved engineers and took 3 days to fit, with no disruption to the site.
